Privacy Policy

From May 23, 2018

It is extremely important to us that we maintain the trust and confidence of visitors to our website and those who attend our classes, workshops and events. We want to make sure you know that we will never trade, rent or sell email lists to anyone.
(Click on links included below to read more about our third party  privacy policies)

Our Website
Our Website and online booking is hosted by Squarespace. When you enrol online for a class or a workshop, your name, address, phone and email are collected from you and used for payment verification through Stripe. These companies don't use your details for any other purpose, and both adhere to the guidelines for the Privacy Shield Framework.  BelfastTrad never has access to your credit card details.

Like all websites, ours uses cookies to collect information. Cookies are small data files which are placed on your computer or other devices, like smart phones or tablets, as you browse our website. They are used to 'remember' when your device accesses our website. Cookies are important to keep our site operating well and to help visitors navigate it easily. Some cookies collect information about pages viewed and your journey around a website. We never use cookies to collet or record and personal details.

BelfastTrad will use your name and email to facilitate the operation of our events, and they will be shared with the tutor you are enrolling with. If you prefer not to be contacted by the tutor, you may request that at the first class.

If you hire an instrument from us we will  collect your name, email, phone and address.  We will hold these details until the instrument is returned to us, then delete your information.

Mailing List
As part of the sign up to our e-newsletter, we ask you to submit some information: your email address, area of interest, and mobile number if you would like to receive text notifications. We use MailChimp to deliver our newsletter. We can collect statistics around email openings and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our newsletter. We are not great at doing this, but we need to tell you that we can.
You can unsubscribe to emails at any time simply by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails, or by emailing our Data Protection Administrator, Fióna Ní Mhearáin at: info@BelfastTrad.com

Evaluations
Twice a year we send out an evaluation survey via Survey Monkey. Our Data Protection Administrator handles all evaluations. Completed surveys are returned with an email identifier. This is used only to facilitate the draw for a free term of classes. The email addresses are then stripped from the results rendering the surveys completely anonymous before they are shared as feedback to the committee and appropriate tutors.

Funders
Because we are funded by various bodies such as the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, we are required to share certain anonymous information. Funders use this information to analyse our programmes. This data never includes names, emails, or contact details. It might include geographical area, gender, age group or disability.

Access to your Personal Information
Under GDPR, you have the right to access and amend any of your personal data that BelfastTrad holds. So, anytime you want to know what we have, or want to change or delete your information, all you have to do is tell us. Email Fiona Ní Mhearáin at:  info@BelfastTrad.com
