Cleamairí Feirste/The Belfast Wren Boys are a traditional music and drama group that provide fun and entertainment and promote the tradition of indigenous mumming. The group perform shows for every age group based on the native traditions of this country. Their performers are versatile and skilled in a wide range of art forms. .The Belfast Wren Boys are experienced working with schools, community groups, festivals, care homes, hospitals, museums and theatres. They have performed throughout Ireland and the world. They draw on the rich cultural traditions of Ireland to provide a participative and entertaining experience that is suitable for all ages.
In this entertaining and interactive workshop, 'How Cú Chulainn got his name’, they will retell the tale with the full participation of the audience. It encompasses traditional dance, storytelling, traditional music and song as well drama. It is full of fun and participation and uses elements of the entire tradition to tell a story.
This is a unique workshop open to all the family. Siblings and friends of current students welcome too!
